Detroit Pistons Flip Murray Shot At

Flip Murray, Detroit Pistons guard, informed the police that gunshots were fired into his house after two masked men approached a female friend who was returning with him from a night club.

Police informed that no one was injured in the shooting. The police cannot ascertain the intent of the masked men and no suspects have been apprehended.

Murray said that he arrived from the club in his own car and left the door open for his 25 year old female friend, who came driving in her own car. The woman informed the police that a masked man approached her from the rear and asked her to keep quiet. That was the point when she screamed and ran into the house. Lt Gerry Scherlinck said that Murray was not aware of being followed.

On hearing his friend scream, Murray came out of the house to find someone standing on the front porch and pointing a gun at him and ordering him to approach the door. He then saw the second masked man standing behind the first.

The police said that as soon as Murray reached the door, he slammed it shut, locked it and ran into the interior of the house.

Murray further informed the police that he had seen a tan or a light colored sedan driving slowly as he pulled into the driveway. The car stopped in the parking lot of a nearby landscaping business. A K-9 dog used for the investigation, led the investigators to the same parking lot.

Murray told the police that he had heard gun shots being fired and the police found out that two shots were fired through the front door and the third shot pierced a window next to the door. After shooting, both masked men fled the scene.

Murray signed up with the Detroit Pistons in July 2006 and the Pistons" spokesman Kevin Grigg said that the team was aware of the shooting incident and the matter had been handed over to proper authorities.
