The Greatest NBA Draft Ever?

When we look back on the class of 2003, we see a lot of players who have made it big in the NBA. These names roll of the tip of every fan"s mouth, Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Josh Howard, Kirk Hinrich and Barbosa. Some of these players have really exceeded the hype and some has proved doubters wrong. This draft is good because there are several Hall of Fame players in the making and several more all-star caliber players. Furthermore, there are several other players that can be solid NBA players in the future.

When we look at the year of Yao Ming and Amare Stoudemire, we see two dominant big men, but we do not see much else. This means that there is no depth in the draft because there is very little good picks. In last year"s draft, Adam Morrison was disappointing and Brandon Roy emerged as the Rookie of the Year. Furthermore, if we look in the past, we can see that there have been star players but many of the drafts were based solely on them and no one else. With luck and skill, these players have made a class that will be remembered forever.

When we look in the past, we will see the draft that produced the star of the 2006 Finals MVP Dwayne Wade and the player who scored almost 30 points in a row. In the future, there have already been talks of impact players such as Greg Oden, Kevin Durant and OJ Mayo. These players are competitive but even they made not make it in the pros. Unless they have been tested, it is not a sure thing about how they react to a more physical game. High school and college host players that are smaller, weaker and less skilled than the real ranks. Many people do not make it because in order to make it, you have to hold many key attributes that make you different from the players around you. Many players do not have that extra something that makes them a star. This is why the 2003 draft is amazing because of the talent that is left for display.

On a side note, there will probably be several players that emerge every year that are not considered good players, because there are many solid players, who are veterans at this point in their careers. It has been fun following the 2003 class.
