The Comeback of the Year

Amare Stoudemire suffered a serious injury which made him unable to play. He was an emerging force in the NBA and is known for is dunks and inside play. He averaged 26 points the year prior and was good on the glass. He was also playing with Steve Nash, one of the best play makers in the NBA. Amare luckily signed a large lucrative contract which meant that if he was unable to play anymore, he would have security. However, the injury really dampened the Suns team.

Some felt that Amare"s rough style of play also helped contribute to his downfall. He had only played 3 games before getting hurt, losing the entire season of play. His contribution to the team was needed and without him, the team was much weaker. Amare tried to flirt with ideas of playing later in the season but had to be realistic. If he further damaged his leg, he would probably never play again.

Amare was not shaken but remained strong in the face of danger. He would exercise to remain in good shape and would listen to the doctor and the people who cared for him. He remained tough and did not cry when told that his chances were not good. Early in the season, he was put to the test. He played well, but again hurt his legs again. This really put a damper on the hopes that the people had about his recovery. He trained even harder and was finally able to play. He made his comeback in 2006 and averaged close to a double-double. The suns were glad to have him back. They were ready to make a playoff run and with him in the nucleus, they were confident. The team had several good players in, Boris Diaw, Barbosa, Steve Nash, Raja Bell and Shawn Marion. The team was a offensive minded, scoring a unheard amount of points each game. They played a high tempo game with Nash leading the way.

Amare is a strong player and has a strong mental makeup. He is hard to guard under the rim and is able to make defensive stops. Look for him and the Suns to have a breakout year.
