The sport was created recently; paintball began in United States of America in 1981 in a farm that was used to mark the cows and trees. This guns or markers used carbon dioxide as power resource. The little bullets, call paintballs, are made of a gelatin, filled with paint were later changed to a special paint for cloth and easy to see. The bullets were given a spherical shape to ensure a perfect shot. The inventors of this wonderful sport were Charles Gaines, Bob Guernsey, and Hayes Noel. Paintball, in the last ten years, has become one of the most popular sports in the United States, because of the concept and the different scenarios, markers, and accessories. It has become the third most popular extreme game in the world. A one reason person like it is because people like to emulate James Bond or Rambo and Because of the different types of markers and accessories you can buy. Also leagues have been created for paintball, there are paintball players that live from this sport, and have sponsor, so they have the best of the best, with the highest technology, and equipment. Also with this sport you could even apply for scholarships at University as paintball players. Most of them could be lawyers or doctors but they preferred to be paintball players.
This sport is played in United States of America, about fifteen to eighteen million players practice this sport, which is bigger than surf, snowboard. However paintball is too expensive, but this sport is worth every penny you pay. This sport has different types of games as: NPPL, NPPL7, X-BALL, PSP, D3, D1, and D2. People sometimes confuse the real paintball and paintball, what the difference? The sport of paintball is usually played in a specific area with specific dimensions (sixty times forty-five meters square). On the other hand paintball is the original game. This sport has different ways to play it, for example, speedball that has different types of bunkers, which are used to cover you. Usually people use air bunkers because there are more effective and have different shapes and making changing places easier. The other way to play it, is a game call, wood-ball. Which have different scenarios, like in forest or abandoned towns or places, making it more like a war? In United States, they have thousands of paintball fields of speedball or wood-ball. The prices for the practicing of this sport with your own equipment ( mask, marker, loader, tank) plus 2000 paintballs cost around US$50.00 without the fee of the field, and with the rent of the equipment cost around US$75.00 and you don"t need to pay for the fee of the field.
The rules of the sport are very easy and short, in wood-ball you hit and get hit with the paintballs, but once your hit you"re. In speedball, is more difficult because you use to play with team of 5 or 7 players which they should know to play, or know how to move, or to think inside the field in good or bad moments. At speedball we have diverse rules: once you"re hit, you"re out, but some people will try to clean themselves and for that, you also get a penalty, how? Taking one of your team out with you. Also we have different types of games are speedball, like center flag, capture the flag, and the most popular one, elimination; for wood-ball we have rescue hostage, elimination, capture flag, 3 preys 2 teams, and others.. For most of the tournaments you can"t have your marker at full auto which means automatic fire while holding the trigger constantly. Right now in United States of America, there are six hundred different teams playing professionally. The best known teams are Dynasty from San Diego, Naughty Dogs from New Jersey, XSV from New York, and AVALANCH from New York; we also have international teams like Russian Legions from Russia and Aces from England.
With my experience of 2 years playing this sport, I assume this sport is good to release stress created by work, family, or even friends. Paintball is one of the safest sport in world; statistics says that this sport is safer than surf, skateboarding, snowboard, or even basketball or soccer. I recommend this sport to everyone of any age because it promotes health and is very useful to release stress and fill you up with adrenaline and also teaches you how to communicate and learn to work in team and think and move as a team.
