What You Should Know for Fishing in Night
Fishing in night is an excellent relaxing experience. If you use the moonlight properly and equipped with latest fishing gears, you can get large amount of fishes easily.
Best secret of catching fish at night is watching moon. It is fact that during full moon, you can find fish where there are shadows of trees or rocks. On the other hand, fishes are more likely to hit when the moon is hidden, either by clouds or a quarter moon. You need to devise your strategy accordingly. Must follow check list for night fishing
You should carry two flashlights and you should load new batteries in each of the flashlights. It's must of have otherwise you will be in deep trouble if there is a problem with one flashlight. You should always carry extra fuse for the boat just like your car otherwise you'll be in trouble if odd happens at all.
You should carry plenty of lures, line, extra rod & reel, etc. A pair of needle nose pliers is extremely useful in night since it is harder to see your line at night than during the day, you have a greater chance of hooking the fish deeper than usual with the delayed reaction time. Mosquito is a challenge in night. You should use a good mosquito repellant like "Skin-so-soft". You should use a black light with a clear blue fluorescent line that will really help you see those hits faster.
Running all of those lights, black lights, etc will surely put a strain on your battery so you should carry an extra pair of battery for safety.
Accident like snake bite or hooked by your buddy's cast can happen any time so its safer to carry proper medication, Band-Aids and peroxide, etc.
I know several anglers carry mobile phones because it can literally save your life if you get into trouble. It's true you may not good coverage everywhere. Still you have the plan for the worst and hope for the best.
