Verify your route with a warden before going, but the largest fish caught in the Aberdares are often a result of long hikes through beautiful terrain. The bamboo line is mainly below the boundary of the park and has some very difficult-to reach streams, but the trout there are the largest in all of Aberdares. The streams on Mt. Kenya are also worth while. If you are very fit, a seven -hour hike to Lake Alice will produce five-six pound rainbows. This requires camping for the night at 12, 000 feet. Bring a warm sleeping bag. How To Catch A Trout With Powerbait
There is really nothing difficult about catching trout with Powerbait, the entire process is really pretty straightforward. In this article, I'll explain exactly how to rig up and with any luck, catch a trout with Powerbait. The technique and rig I'm going to describe is for use while still fishing in a lake. Before I explain the actual rig, lets start with your rod, reel, and line. Your rod and reel should be no heavier than light action. I prefer ultra light action rods and reels for trout fishing, but light action is tolerable as well. As far as your line is concerned, for trout fishing line heavier than six pound test should not be used. I prefer 4 pound test, but again, six pound test is tolerable.
Bulrush Bass Fishing
The bulrush (bullrush, reeds) is often confused with cattails. Bulrush tends to grow in slightly deeper waters and have more of a circular cross section as compared to the semicircular section of the cattail. Depending on the time of year and bass feeding habits, bulrush often dominate in fish catches over cattails. I believe it's primarily due to the depth of the water (it grows in deeper water). The larger bass tend to migrate to the first structure they come to when actively feeding, and the bulrush is often closer to these deeper water migration routes. My personal favorite technique for fishing bulrush is to pitch a Texas rigged worm. I tend to use a harder, straight tailed worm over a ribbon tailed one.
