         <title>Gymnastics Article - Fun With Running</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/gymnastics/news_2007-08-29-10-12-05-751.html</link>
<description> Since so many sports, including basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, gymnastics, and of course track and field, require good running technique, coaches must concentrate on teaching proper running technique. Most people and often even athletes and coaches take for granted that if they can run, they are performing efficiently, but this is often not the case. Even with professional ball players, corrections can be made with running technique and speed. Running should be analyzed, broken down into smaller parts drills, and then taught correctly.

<title>Gymnastics Beam Equipment Progressions for Gymnasts</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/gymnastics/news_2007-06-09-02-36-02-280.html</link>
<description> For all the skills in any beam skill training progression system, there are the equipment progressions relating to beam height and padding. All skills should be mastered on a line on the floor and progress eventually to the high beam. Depending on the equipment available in the gym, there are a number of intermediate equipment progression levels. They include: 1. Tape line on floor. 2. Foam floor beam on mat. 3. Heavily padded low beam. 4. Regulation low beam with mats stacked even with beam. 5.

<title>The Importance of Flexibility for Gymnastics</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/gymnastics/news_2007-06-09-01-04-02-902.html</link>
<description> You have to be flexible to be successful in gymnastics for three main reasons: There are some skills that you just won&quot;t be able to do if you are not flexible enough. There are some ways to learn skills that can only be done if you are flexible. And, there are many skills that look good only if you are flexible. Flexibility Speeds Learning! Most top level training programs require that you meet minimum gymnastics flexibility (and strength) requirements because it speeds the learning process when you are flexible enough to learn any skill and keeps gymnasts from developing bad habits from working skills incorrectly.

<title>Gymnastics Sport Psychology, Goals, and Motivation</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/gymnastics/news_2007-06-08-22-00-01-407.html</link>
<description> 90% Mental and 10% Physical It is often said that gymnastics is 90% mental and 10% physical. If that is true, it certainly follows that there should be some percentage of training time devoted to the mental aspects of the sport and psychological training tools. In spite of this reasoning, it appears that even among those coaches who believe in mental training, there is more verbal support than actual training going on. The USA National Gymnastics Team Uses a Sports Psychologist The U.S. National Gymnastics Team has been seriously working with sports psychologists since at least 1992, after the Barcelona Olympics, dealing with problems such as overly high expectations, pressure and stress management.

         <title>Secrets to Gymnastics Creativity</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/gymnastics/news_2007-06-08-04-44-02-397.html</link>
<description> Each Gymnast Is Unique For those coaches who bother to closely examine each of their gymnasts, they will find an infinite variety of skills, abilities and learning capacity that is just begging to be developed. Further, certain skills and positions look better (even great) on certain body types. Finally, certain gymnasts just learn certain skills and skill groups better than others do. This is one of the beauties of the sport - to help develop and see the unique style of each gymnast. Originality at Every Level There is no reason, however, why the same process cannot take place at every competitive level (except, of course, in compulsory routines, but we will assume compulsory gymnasts are already training optional skills).

<title>Secrets For a Happy and Successful Gymnastic Life</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/gymnastics/news_2007-06-08-03-00-02-834.html</link>
<description> Focus First on the Natural Benefits of Gymnastics Parents should be satisfied with the benefits that gymnastics, in general, brings to their child and look on any competitive success just as more icing on the cake. Gymnasts are invariably among the most strong and fit athletes in their classes at school and among all of their peers. There is little doubt that fitness equals attractive. Gymnastics Confidence Equals Confidence in Everyday Life Gymnastics, as an individual sport, most often develops a higher level of confidence than is possible in team sports.

         <title>Gymnastics: Approaching Your Gymnast s Coach</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/gymnastics/news_2007-06-08-01-12-02-963.html</link>
<description> Coaching is Already a Full-Time Job Coaches rarely have the time to sit down and explain everything they are doing and why. With practice time and planning time and other coaching management responsibilities, coaching is a more than full-time job with barely time to explain the sport to gymnasts, much less parents. Beware the &quot;Phone&quot; Game Gymnastics team practices are usually too long for all but most compulsive parents to sit through and observe. Thus parents only hear second hand what is going on in the gym either from gymnasts or parents.

<title>Gymnastics: Current Issues in Gymnast Training</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/gymnastics/news_2007-06-07-21-56-02-172.html</link>
<description> Lack of Experienced Qualified Coaches The consensus on the top problems in youth sports and gymnastics would at least include the following list. In gymnastics, the lack of qualified coaches is perhaps the biggest problem. The sport is growing at a rapid rate and there were not enough coaches (of any experience level) before. No Place for Coaches to Learn There are many reasons for this and a number of deficiencies in the coaching pool. The largest problems is that there is no place for anyone who is interested to go to learn how to coach correctly.

         <title>5 Gymnastics Lessons for Gymnasts</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/gymnastics/news_2007-06-07-04-20-01-681.html</link>
<description> Keep the Big Picture in Mind Gymnasts and coaches often fail to see the big gymnastics picture. Gymnasts are in the midst of a gymnastics career. This particular practice, meet or competition year are of only limited importance in a gymnast&quot;s long career in the sport. All goals, decisions and even reactions should be undertaken with this long-term view in mind.. The right decision from only the immediate point of view could be a drastically wrong decision for accomplishing overall long-term goals and objectives.

<title>New Gymnastics Supervision Systems Provide More Safety for Gymnasts</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/gymnastics/news_2007-06-07-02-40-02-572.html</link>
<description> New Video Technology Affordable and Available Video safety supervision is not common in gymnastics facilities but is becoming more and more economically feasible with the dropping prices of multi-camera security camera systems. Video systems can feed into the front desk area allowing front desk staff to help generally supervise the gym area, to a security office, to the coach&#039;s offices, to the owner&#039;s office, or onto the Internet or a combination of some or all of these. A Camera in Each Corner Four-camera video surveillance systems are available in every discount shopping superstore at very reasonable prices.
