In Hockey Town, there"s only one team to root for -- the Detroit Red Wings. The team currently resides just a luxury sedan or limo ride away at Joe Louis Arena, located in downtown Detroit. Here are some team historical highlights: 1920s The Red Wings go all the way back to the old Western Hockey League, when the Victoria (British Columbia) Cougars were sold to a group from Detroit on September 25, 1926. The team played its home games in Windsor, Ontario. The Victoria Cougars had won the Stanley Cup in 1925 and were Cup finalists in 1926, but the Detroit Cougars finished 12-28-4; the NHL's worst record for the 1926-27 season. Help came in 1928, in the form of Jack Adams as the team's coach and general manager.

However Fleury is by no means the Penguins goalie of the future. Yes, he made progress last year. But he still has a long road to travel. His potential is undeniable. The question is will be make the journey. In recent years the Penguins have changed net minders almost as often as Imelda Marcos changed her shoes. They have tried several different "shooting stars" between the pipes looking for "the one".

Adding Gary Roberts and Peter Sykora as first line rental units gives Pittsburg scoring depth at three lines even if Roberts can only be counted on for sporadic service during the season. Shifting Malkin to center gives the Penguins a trio of centers (Staal, Malkin, and Crosby) that can only be envied by other teams. Fleury at goal is coming into his prime and should give steady service between the pipes even if there is no proven back up.
