         <title>The History Of Hockey Town</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/hockey/news_2007-08-29-15-00-02-385.html</link>
         <description> In Hockey Town,  there&quot;s only one team to root for -- the Detroit Red Wings. The team currently resides just a luxury sedan or limo ride away at Joe Louis Arena,  located in downtown Detroit. Here are some team historical highlights: 1920s The Red Wings go all the way back to the old Western Hockey League,  when the Victoria (British Columbia) Cougars were sold to a group from Detroit on September 25,  1926. The team played its home games in Windsor,  Ontario. The Victoria Cougars had won the Stanley Cup in 1925 and were Cup finalists in 1926,  but the Detroit Cougars finished 12-28-4;

         <title>Slap Shot is 30</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/hockey/news_2007-08-29-13-32-01-438.html</link>
<description> First, I want everyone in Slap Shot Nation to know that I do not participate in any profits from merchandising. My endorsement of the Mad Brothers has two reasons: one, I like the Mad Brothers. They have the guts to be legitimate, not rip-off artists. For all of you who have bought the fakes, méfiez-vous. Buy only the real thing. And, two, I like their web site. In the words of Reggie Dunlop paying tribute to that legendary small town newspaper sports reporter, Dickie Dunn, Madbrothers &quot;really caught the spirit of the thing.

<title>Penguins Pushing Fleury To Improve With Signings</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/hockey/news_2007-08-29-11-56-02-693.html</link>
<description> Marc Andre Fleury made strides last year in his quest to prove himself as an NHL caliber goalie. Judging how successful he will be based on last year&quot;s performance is pretty hard considering that he faced more shots than he probably should have due to mental lapses by a defense that while much maligned was still better than it&quot;s critics claim. However Fleury is by no means the Penguins goalie of the future. Yes, he made progress last year. But he still has a long road to travel. His potential is undeniable.

<title>NHL Predictions for 2007-08 Season - Pittsburgh Penguins and NY Rangers</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/hockey/news_2007-08-29-10-16-02-496.html</link>
<description> The Penguins - Mario Lemieux and his band of pirates, fresh from holding up Pittsburg for the right to hang on to the Penguins, made a few more well calculated moves to sail the good ship Crosby into the finals in the Eastern Conference. Adding Gary Roberts and Peter Sykora as first line rental units gives Pittsburg scoring depth at three lines even if Roberts can only be counted on for sporadic service during the season. Shifting Malkin to center gives the Penguins a trio of centers (Staal, Malkin, and Crosby) that can only be envied by other teams.

<title>Movie Zeros to Real Life Heroes- Disney s Anaheim Ducks</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/hockey/news_2007-07-02-11-40-03-860.html</link>
<description> Often, stories found in the world of fiction are based on reality, rather than the other way round. But the real life story of Disney&#039;s Mighty Ducks ice hockey team strangely mirrors its fictional counterpart. In 1992, the Walt Disney Company released the first of a live action trilogy: &quot; The Mighty Ducks&quot;. The films followed the misadventures of an ice hockey team composed of perennial losers who finish at the bottom of their league year after year, before a new coach arrives, who inevitably leads the team to victorious glory.

<title>The Great Game of Floor Hockey</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/hockey/news_2007-06-28-23-04-02-482.html</link>
<description> Anyone who has ever participated in an elementary school gym class probably has some memory of playing floor hockey. This sport allowed both boys and girls the chance to play hockey without having to worry about learning how to skate. Today it&quot;s reaching well beyond the confines of school curriculum and there are leagues for this fun and faced paced competitive activity in many cities. For someone familiar with ice hockey it doesn&quot;t differ much. Not everyone has the chance or the interest to learn how to skate.

<title>Why Wear An Oakley Hockey Visor?</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/hockey/news_2007-06-22-10-04-02-688.html</link>
<description> Hockey is a competitive sport that entertains millions from the moment when the puck first drops at an NHL game. Magical moments on the ice may include the almost elegant glide towards a goal to an awesome save during the last seconds of a game. However, there are also the not so triumphant events that take place on the ice when streaks of red begin to stain the arena. At times, a hockey puck can soar through the air and not land on the ice or score a goal, but instead, make brutal contact with the face of a player.

<description> Bringing out the Best in your Players The most important issue at hand when coaching any sport is how to get the most out of your players, both on the field and off. In order to bring out the best in your players, coaches have to build a strong relationship with their players though communication, innovation, and leadership. Feel free to apply any of the following tips or suggestions to your field hockey coaching program. <title>Drills For Field Hockey Goalkeepers</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/hockey/news_2007-06-12-21-44-01-677.html</link>
<description> Keep your Keeper Sharp The largest trap that most goalkeepers fall into during field hockey practice is to be merely used as target practice by the others on the team. In order to fully develop your goalkeeper&quot;s skills, try implementing some of these drills for field hockey goalkeepers at your next practice. A good goalkeeper is essential to winning field hockey games and these drills will keep your keeper&quot;s reaction times down. 2-on-1 Shot Blocking The first of the drills for field hockey goalkeepers is a simple shot-stopping drill.

         <title>Hockey Goals</title>
         <link>http://article-sport.info/hockey/news_2007-06-09-02-48-02-331.html</link>
<description> Hockey goals play a significant role in the game of hockey. Hockey goals and nets used for street hockey, roller hockey, inline hockey, floor hockey, ball hockey, and even pond hockey differ greatly. Hockey goals are usually rectangular in shape with proportionate dimensions. The standard size of hockey goals sold at most stores is 6 ft x 4ft x 2 ft. Popular manufacturers of hockey goals are Mylec, Franklin, and DOM. These manufacturers make heavy duty galvanized steel hockey goals with heavy-duty PVC tubing and deluxe nylon net.
