Jets Offensive Scheme Lacks Creativity

POINTSHAVERS.COM 09/22/08 - Jets hurtful coordinator Brian Shottenheimer took a group of criticism for his conservative play calling last week against the Dissimilar Great britain Patriots. Assorted fans blame Shottenheimer for granting journeyman quarterback Matt Cassell his cardinal win as a starting quarterback since high school. Cassell straightaway followed the improbable win with an embarrassing loss this foregone Sunday to the Miami Dolphins and the different NFL SoothSayer...LB Joey Porter.

Remain week, the Jets found themselves on the three yard line with a chance to put Cassell and the Patriots on their heels with an early score; however instead of letting Favre select a shot at the endzone, the Jets chose to hand the ball off to Thomas Jones on three straight carries which gained a complete of 1 yard. When criticized by limited media, Shottenheimer defended his playcalling saying, "...we felt very good approximately those plays. We were running the ball well, and Thomas was having a acceptable game..." - www.newsday.com

I'm not an NFL coach, but with Thomas running the ball well...wouldn't you think the defense would make the adaption to defend the run on the 3 yard line. And even more so...with the defense keying on Jones...wouldn't a play action pass receive the defense by surprise?

I tell you what....if the Jets idea of opening up the offense way allowing Brett Favre to pass on every down, then Favre will be spending most of the sport on his back. The Chargers defense will be able to "pin their ears back" and pass rush Favre on every down provided the Jets offence becomes predictable. And if the Chargers move an early advantage and the Jets are forced to play catch-up...I'm not firm if the Jets vexing playbook lends itself to another come-from-behind energy from Brett Favre.

I'm sorry...but I'm going to have to observe augmented from the Jets before I put my money on them. Did I mention the deed the referees testament deliver the Chargers the benefit of the mistrust on every call after what happened last week?
