What it Takes to Earn a Volleyball Scholarship
Athletic Scholarships can be a difficult task now a days. Unless you are the Lebron James of your respective sport you must really focus on your particular athletic ability and utilize all necessary forms of promotion to help obtain an athletic scholarship.
This is a unique story specifically about volleyball and how one athlete went about gettting a volleyball scholarship. For Hannah Smart it"s been five straight years to the USA Volleyball Junior Olympic Championships with her club team KC Power club. Five years in a row is a serious feat and a serious commitment. The team finished this year in 11th place but most importantly it was the fun they had and the exposure the got in hopes of securing a volleyball scholarship.
The exposure comes at a cost both financially and personally. It is often difficult for high school athletes to be away from a number of their friends and family while they travel to tournaments and camps throughout the country. The finances often add up into the thousands of dollars between club team costs, travel costs, food, room and board, etc. With the hopes that it may payoff in the end with a volleyball scholarship offer.
Summer time and fall of there junior and senior seasons is the time that the serious players will begin preparing for college scholarship offers. This dedication to one"s sport is a common thread throughout all the sports, you must play club and travel ball and spend the time and money to get seen.
